Introducing BumpTop - 3D Desktop

This presentation displays an awesome prototype for windows called BumptTop. It's a prototype for a 3D desktop that's supposed to be more lifelike and allows you to handle your desktop just like you handle your real life desk by piling your documents in normal piles, or piling windows, or even "folding" stuff and pining it on the "side wall" and much much more. Check it out!

I always thought that 3D desktop was stupid because nobody could ge it right.

Well it seems that these guys actually nailed it. The only question is - will it be 5yrs, 10 years or never that we'll see it in consumer products?

P.S. Same as multi-touch touchscreen.

I'm not sure what you're talking about gog, but there was something posted on a touch screen that had an idea kinda like this but not really. That's what Denis was talking about when he said about the multitouch touchscreen.

I really like the idea because if you like trying different things to manage your files on your filesystem, then this is for you! I like all the little things it allowed you to do and such. So if you ask me I'd say it's definately worth it (:
