PDF on Firefox

So how do I get my PDF files that I click on Firefox to open? I messed with plug-ins and looked for extensions, but couldn't find anything. You guys know? It opens a new tab like it is supposed to but then it's just blank and I have to paste the address into IE to get the file. Help!
