Tesla Roadster - pushing the limits of electric cars

Wired had an article today talking about this car - Tesla's Roadster that runs on more than 6800 lithium batteries! For those who don't know, lithium batteries are the batteries that your laptops use. These wasn't the only interesting thing about this car. It does 0-60 in about 4 seconds, and, according to Wired the realistic top speed is 130mph (even though the dash goes up to 150mph).

True, but the top speed is still enough to crash.

i drove a 1970 oldsmobile cutlass v8 at 140mph ... it was out of this world !!

if the car can reach 135mph then they'll have to adhere to the federal rules and regulations to make it absolutely safefor the driver in case of a crash. But what if they crash and the emergency guys normally cut through metal.. that's when they are in for a shock :)

The only time I topped 140 mph was on a motorcycle. Talk about being stupid!!!

Nice. good thing they didn't have the front radar system on when you went by ameet.

I was on the freeway at about 3 AM. It was deserted. But now I'm "responsible". Good thing I got it out of my system at a young age. (22?)

I guess I have a year (I'm 21 now) to get out of my system. :)

I wonder if I should pimp my scooter (45mph top speed right now) or buy a motorcycle. What do you guys think?

Yeah Denis pimp that thing out! Put a rocket engine on it like that VW beetle lol.

By the way just wanted to introduce - Ameet is a friend from Kent State (although we both are done and he recently moved to PA since he started a new job).
