Do not forget the Armenian Genocide

April 24th is the memorial day for the Armenian Genocide. For those who do not know about it in 1915 the Turks slaughtered millions of innocent Armenians and the worst part is they still to this day do not accept the fact. This is one of the many genocides that the world does not hear about, because the people who commit them attempt to hush things up. But other people know and remember the gruesome facts of the past and will not let them forget.

Turkish government have been like that 100 years ago (Armenia), they have been like that 30 years ago (Cyprus). Are they any different now?

Regarding Cyprus, Turkey invaded north part of the island back in 1974 and still does not give it back (one of the conditions for joining the EU for Turkey is to resolve this problem).

Read up more on that:

- Cyprus Invasion

Nice links Denis. I didn't know about the Cyprus invasion. I was just reading up on that wikipedia page and got to the page on "Accession of Turkey into the European Union" and according to it Turkey does not have to admit to the genocide in order to enter the EU. I had heard different, but you never know. However I believe Cyprus will definately be neccessary since it's recent.
